Prostate UK have generously made available the sum of £2,500 for this financial year for small grants to be paid to patient support groups which are members of the Federation, to
assist with running their organisation, raising
awareness or providing support to their members. These grants, which will be of the order of £250 each,
are managed by the Federation. Example cases where a small grant would be viewed favourably are equipment purchase, advertising, web space purchase and web design.
To date (December 2008) just under £1,200 has been awarded to 6 member organisations, for a variety of projects, including postage, design of leaflets, and general assistance with meeting costs.
Bids will close for this year at the end of January. We have faith that Prostate UK will continue their generosity next year, but the amount given will be dependent on our allocating all of this years funds. The amount offered next year is unlikely to exceed the amount actually expended this year
